Currently, we are collecting donations for Nargis Cyclone Relief at our University. Starting on May 9, we initiate campaign for collecting donations in all possible ways.
Activities include:
- Opening desk for donations at University canteen.
- Communicate with other student groups to collect donations (through Myanmar community as well as Japanese community).
- Providing assistant to people who want to donate in large amount directly to Myanmar local relief teams.
We are currently working with Myanmar Cyclone Relief team which is organized by local Myanmar youths and directly distributing aids to serious victims as quickly as possible. They are working with existing NGOs RAVEN Blood Donor Club and Helping Hands For New Generation .
Our first batch of donation 1500,000 Kyats (144,000 JPY) has transfered to our local counterpart Nyi Lynn Seck for emergency aids distribution. We will continue collection for donations.
